Do you ever find yourself asking God questions?
Why do you allow suffering in the world? Why do you allow the evil to prosper and the holy to perish? Why do you allow disease and sickness? Why don’t you do something?
These are fair questions. Any of us who feel a connection to God and a compassion for others are sure to ask these questions at one time or another. And God would be a good one to ask, since he is all knowing and all powerful.
But have you ever thought that maybe God already answered these questions?
Or, better yet, perhaps God should be the one to ask us these questions? Read them again, but this time imagine God is doing the asking and you are responsible for answering…
Why do you allow suffering in the world? Why do you allow the evil to prosper and the holy to perish? Why do you allow disease and sickness? Why don’t you do something?
God did two things to redeem our world: 1) He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins; 2) He planted the Church. So the next time we want to ask God some questions, perhaps we should ask ourselves first.
We may already have the answers. We may already be the answers.
