There is no server. No ordained minister. No trained layperson.
Its just a table with the bread and wine available for whoever wants it… whenever they want it…
There is no need for a server or special training or a certain degree to serve this meal anymore than you need special training or a degree to have your friends over to your house for a meal. You just lay the food out and let everyone eat as much as they like… as many times as they like… as often as they like…
I think sometimes in America we get so wrapped up in our traditions, our titles, our degrees, our self-sanctity that we forget how beautifully simple the teachings and the sacrifices of Christ really are.
May our lives and our worship look more like this picture.
